can you please simulate surface contact between two 2d mesh bodies (two thin plates lying one over the other) using GAP element?
The question about Optimization..., IF you can make some videos about it it would help a lot. Also.., videos about Mechatronics Concept Design and More Simulations. I'm having difficulties to put a roller chain upon its Sprocket and make it move. There are too little about it. You can make Courses that are also very rare and very necessary. You have a good way to teach, just make the videos a little louder and make Questions during your presentations because this is a strategy very efficient to keep people focused ! And THANK YOU very much for your Videos and Efforts.

how can i increase the number of elements through the thickness? currently you only have 1 element through the thickness
The layering is internally done cause of the 2D mesh. This more accurate than a 3Dmesh part with few element over the thickness

It is in the default install. How it works with licensing I don;t know for sure. It seems to be a separate bundle choice

hello olaf, when i am performing analysis, "error opening nastran .f06 file" is coming and analysis is terminating at the starting itself. Can you tell what could be possible reason for that error?
One possibility is that a nastran solver is still running and is writing to this fiel. Check you task manager unde NX if there are nastran running en shut these down

Trying to run modal free analysis, but there are fatal errors showing up. How to fix it? 1] 7340 Computed Eigen exceed storage 2] I/O error opening 2nd sequential file 3] 3034 internal failure in Lanczos procedure contact siemens 4]Gram Schmidt didnt converge 5] Tri diagonal QL didnt converge 6] No Eigen vectors computed mode synthesis.
How much memory pc and disk do you have free. Does a simple part run?
@@OlafvanBuul Yes simple parts run, only the .afm file assembly is not running, 386 GB space is available

@@OlafvanBuul 1.8 tB is the folder space but 386 gb is free in the folder where I have kept my .afm and simulation

i came here because i know there is a way to instead select a center line and the outer edge and have the same diameter dimension. Imma keep looking in the wild web :D Edit: Found it, make a center-line and than select cylindrical dimension and than first the center-line and than second element geometry. :;D
